Today (February 25, 2018) I decided to celebrate the birthday of one of my favorite musicians and biggest influences by covering two of his lesser-known songs and posting the results on YouTube. Both of the tunes below were written before the recording of 1970’s All Things Must Pass and demoed for that album’s producer, Phil Spector, but they never went any further than that. You could argue that neither one is quite finished, but I like them both as they are. Hope you like my solo acoustic versions, recorded in the office of my NYC apartment—note the large photo of the artist in question hanging behind me (and no, I didn’t just put that there for the video, it’s always on that wall).
